In this film there is a traveling to the world of one-storey Russia, a research of this special mentality, tenor and views of a world perspective from an izba window. Characters of the film live in different points of Russia and do not even know about existence of each other. But the one integrates them – love to the territory, though small, but native. They reflect on a village entity, on life values, on the future of the Russian village and do not understand why they are still called «bumpkin» - uneducated simpletons - while this word has meant simply «the resident of the village» at all times.
